Position Overview:

C & G Collision is seeking Autobody Technicians to join our team in Maple Creek. Seeking skilled professionals with experience in vehicle body repair, refinishing, and mechanical repair tasks related to collisions. The ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring vehicles are restored to their pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Assessment:
    • Inspect and evaluate crashed vehicles in terms of the structural, body, and mechanical damages.
    • Provide detailed repair estimates and timelines to ensure accurate customer expectations.
  • Body Repair:
    • Repair and replace damaged body parts such as panels, bumpers, doors, hoods, and fenders.
    • Use techniques like hammering, sanding, and filling to repair dents, dings, and surface damage.
    • Structural repairs: welding and metal working.
  • Refinishing and Painting:
    • Vehicle preparation for painting: sanding, masking, and priming.
    • Apply paint coats ensuring proper color match and a smooth, high-quality finish.
    • Perform touch-ups and corrections to guarantee a flawless final product.
  • Mechanical Repairs:
    • Conduct basic mechanical repairs related to collisions, such as alignment, suspension, and cooling system adjustments.
    • Replace broken or damaged glass, mirrors, headlights, and other exterior accessories.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all shop safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure that repaired vehicles meet industry safety and quality standards before returning them to customers.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate with customers to explain repairs, timelines, and costs when necessary.
    • Good customer service: friendly and courteous to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and confidence.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • Certificate from a Private Vocational School or a relevant training program in autobody repair is required.
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in autobody repair, refinishing, and mechanical work.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques, including welding, metalworking, painting, and refinishing.
    • Ability to use autobody tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Communication:
    • Respectable communication with customers and other members of the workplace.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure that repairs meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Physical Capability:
    • Capable of doing work manually like lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
