Position Overview:
Gather Local Market is seeking a dynamic and organized Communications & Program Coordinator to join our team. This position is vital for planning, organizing, and overseeing the successful execution of our community programs. You will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager, program participants, hosts, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth program delivery and effective communication strategies. If you're a relationship-builder with a creative edge and excellent communication skills, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Plan and coordinate community programs, ensuring seamless execution by liaising with program participants, hosts, and other stakeholders.
  • Communications: Manage communication efforts through email campaigns, newsletters, and social media. This includes crafting newsletters via MailChimp and updating content on the Gather Local Market website.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met while aligning with Gather’s program goals.
  • Social Media Management: Generate and be able to manage the social media content across platforms (Meta, Google Ads) and design engaging posters for promotions and program announcements.
  • Administrative Support: Oversee administrative duties such as organizing calendars, managing program schedules, and keeping program records and spreadsheets updated.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Technology Proficiency: Must be experienced with Google Suites, MailChimp, Canva, Trello, and managing spreadsheets. Proficiency in keeping organized calendars and updating WordPress websites is essential.
  • Social Media Savvy: Ability to create engaging content for social media platforms such as Meta, as well as manage Google Ads campaigns.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical, particularly when relaying detailed information from program hosts to users. Strong email etiquette and timely responses are expected.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive, solution-oriented mindset is crucial to identify and resolve program challenges as they arise.
  • Flexibility: While there will be routine tasks, the ideal candidate should be adaptable and capable of managing unplanned tasks and demands.
