Position Overview:
The Site Manager, Outpatient Services at the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA) plays a vital role in overseeing the efficient operations of the agency’s outpatient services, ensuring that cancer patients receive high-quality care. As a member of the Care Services Division management team, the Site Manager collaborates with other healthcare departments to provide seamless patient care, monitor nursing practice standards, and ensure compliance with protocols. This leadership role is critical to advancing cancer care and improving patient outcomes within the province of Saskatchewan.

The Site Manager will also serve as a clinical leader within the department, overseeing nursing care, and promoting a safe, supportive environment for both patients and staff. The position also requires stepping in as needed to support the Provincial Manager, Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services, and acting in the absence of the Director or Site Manager of Systemic Therapy & Support Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Oversee the daily operations of the outpatient services at SCA, including provincial cancer referral services, patient clinic bookings, and specialized oncology services.
  • Patient Care Excellence: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to cancer patients, monitoring compliance with nursing standards.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with departments across the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and Saskatchewan Health Authority to ensure integrated and comprehensive cancer care.
  • Policy Implementation: Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of clinical protocols, medical directives, policies, and procedures for outpatient and systemic therapy services.
  • Program Development: Lead initiatives aimed at advancing oncology care practices, promoting innovation in patient care, and improving the overall work environment for staff.
  • Staff Support: Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to the clinical staff in outpatient services, ensuring their professional development and well-being.
  • Absence Coverage: Act on behalf of the Site Manager, Systemic Therapy & Support Services, and the Director, ensuring continuity of care and operational management when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree related to health field, such as Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a healthcare environment, with a strong background in oncology or systemic therapy preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in nursing management with a proven ability to manage complex healthcare programs.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and standards, particularly within oncology and outpatient services.
  • Strong communication and team work abilities to collaborate with various teams.
  • Leadership acumen to inspire, support, and develop clinical teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in oncology nursing or systemic therapy.
  • Experience in overseeing cancer referral services and outpatient care programs.
  • Proven ability to manage clinical protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety and care.
  • Experience with staff mentorship and professional development.
